It is incredibly important teachers listen to their students and recognise their areas of strengths and weaknesses. Maths GCSE has become increasingly difficult, there are multiple problem-solving scenarios which students have not developed skills for yet. My teaching methodology is to get students to see and understand the context of the question before jumping into the maths. A high proportion of students make vast mistakes purely from not understanding the fundamentals. My aim is to ensure students understand the basics, understand the context of the questions and make links between all the topics in maths.
Typically in my lessons, I question students on key words such as 'solving' or 'perimeter' before delving into the topic. This gives students a background of the lesson and allows them to gain a conceptual understanding. As a teacher, I have found that my students greatly benefit from questions being broken down and them being tested on what certain mathematical words mean. I found that this is a very effective method as it has lead to increase in grades in my classes.
I personally find that it is key that the teacher gets to know their student and communicate in a way that students will respect and appreciate. A lot of students find it hard to approach their teachers for various reasons so for me, it is important I create a safe and open learning environment.
FEMALE STUDENTS ONLY PLEASE.

Zaynab has proven to provide an excellent level of teaching through her ability to balance full time teaching with additional tutees. Zaynab has created a class room set up which is equipped with: a large desk, white board and a variety of textbooks relevant to the current syllabus. I am confident that Zaynab can provide students that extra boost to excel from their peers and achieve the top grades.
Zaynab has been tutoring my daughter for the past year and a half in preparation for her GCSE maths exam this year. She shows strong mathematical knowledge and a care towards her students. She focuses on areas of weaknesses with my daughter and teachers her methods and processes that will allow her to remember. She provides exam papers and topic resources for the lessons and covers key mathematical concepts. My daughter thoroughly enjoys her lessons with Zaynab and has since seen a great progress in her maths.
