History and RE tutor for 15 and 16 year olds

Written by Richard R
William guided a 15 year old girl and 16 year old boy through the complexities of RE and History GCSE in an engaging and committed way. His 'discussion-style' of tutoring broke down many of the learning barriers that had been put in place by school teachers. He paid particular attention to teaching 'definitions' which helped to clarify many aspects of the subjects.
Outcome:
A terrific improvement in grades for both teenagers from D's at the start of the tutoring sessions up to B grade results for both RE and History subjects.

English tution for University International Student and GCSE English for a 16 years old

Written by Kitty V
Both my son and my sister were William's student. My sister was doing Foundation Course in Fashion Styling and Photography at London College of Fashion. As an international student, she found it hard when it comes to presentation her assignment. William helped her through in every step from researching, writing and preparing for her presentation speech.
My son was doing GCSE during the toughest time of his life, his dad passed away when he started year10. In result of that he missed out 3/4 of his year10 GCSE subjects. Trying to achieve any pass grade had become a huge challenge. I was very impressed with William's methods of teaching and his dedication. It had improved both of his student's abilities significantly.
Subject:
English (Degree)
Outcome:
improvement for both of them. GCSE started from U finished with D (mainly based on exam!) Foundation course pass with merit.

GCSE English

Written by Ben I

William is very learner centred, calm and encouraging. He increased the confidence of my son in analysing pieces of text for GCSE English literature. He helped specifically with poetry, directing him to the kind of language he should use. In English language he was particularly helpful by making Ben more confident in the exam, by giving him structures to fall back on if he got stuck or panicy.

Subject:
English Literature (GCSE)
Outcome:

Ben achieved A*s for both subjects.

An excellent tutor for your child

Written by Aklilu G
William tutored my niece after our last tutor left halfway through my niece's GCSE english studies. She has had several tutor's as english GCSE was one of her weaker subjects and found that william was the best tutor she has had.
William is a natural teacher who is a great communicator, who has a great ability to explain the subject material in a way that is easy and interesting to understand. William was also very likeable and personable.
My niece passed her english exam and I believe that william's help was a big reason she did so, and I have no hesitation at all in recommending him as a tutor for your child.
Subject:
English Literature (GCSE)
Outcome:
English B and C

William helped my son, currently at the French Lycée, get a place in year 9 at Kings College Wimbledon next september. He helped him prepare for the english part of the school exam (after which he got a conditional offer) and subsequently for the 13+ English.
In addition to developing a strong bond with my son, he gave him very good advice in terms of what to focus on as well as very good tips and techniques, especially for the Reading & comprehension. He was extremely patient, reliable, flexible and dedicated. It is very clear that he has a lot of experience in terms of tutoring for common entrance English exams and he was able to bring lots of relevant materials. He understood very quickly what my son's strengths and weaknesses were and came up with a plan to get him to the right level in a very short time. Overall a very competent and conscientious tutor!
Subject:
English
Outcome:
Successful (place in september)

A very thoughtfull, reliable and effective tutor

Written by Vh H
I can unhesitatingly recommend William as an excellent English tutor. He is a very thoughtful and highly reliable teacher. He always arrived on time and with a lesson plan prepared. My son is very much a STEM focused child and his previous schools English teacher did not seem to be reaching him and had written him off for English, in the process seriously denting his confidence. William was able to bond with my son and patiently helped him with his reading comprehension and essay writing. He had helped to build up my sons confidence and ability sufficiently to help get into his preferred very competitive London day school through good results in competitive exams. We were told that our son was in the top quartile of test takers in the English part of the entrance exam which very much surprised me as we were only aiming to be average. The success in English was clearly greatly helped by Williams input.
Subject:
English (Common Entrance)
Outcome:
Successfully attained his place in first choice competitive London day school.
