Lim Wei Jie is a very intelligent and hardworking student. Academically, he is consistently ranked in the top 5% of the students from the same intake in the college. He is an independent learner who is capable to source for extra reading material and questions to further enhance his ability in the area of his studies. In classroom, Wei Jie is very attentive and responsive as he is among the few students who can grasp difficult concepts and principles that were introduced in class and are able to apply them in problem solving questions when tested during lessons.
He is also very competent in the Chemistry Laboratory as he is able to complete all experiments given within the stipulated time and is able to obtain results with high accuracy and precision. He is also a capable leader as he is able to give vision and direction to his group whenever there is a group assignment enabling his group to complete the assignment ahead of time. Wei Jie’s leadership quality was also shown in extracurricular activities as he managed to lead his team to win the gold medal in the football and handball competition back in his high school days. Wei Jie is also active in voluntary work where he has lend his hand in numerous charity events such as the voluntary services to the Wildlife Conservation Singapore Fund in 2007, the ‘Joy Ride for the Elderly’ in 2008 and the voluntary work at Hospital University Kebangsaan Malaysia and Hospital Serdang in 2009. His generosity and thoughtfulness towards others continues in the college as he often offers help to his peers who is struggling in their academics.
Lim Wei Jie was awarded the Outstanding Cambridge Learners Award for being the top student in Malaysia across 9 subject that he took under the IGCSE examinations in 2010. He was also awarded the same award when he emerged as the best student in Mathematics for the same examination. His enormous potential in Mathematics continues in A-levels as he is constantly scoring high marks for the subject in every examinations eclipsing all other students from the same intake.
