Last year I met Wayne when I interviewed him for a Justice Internship role in my Parliamentary office. Although Wayne was not offered the post, I was most impressed with his qualifications and expertise/experience in human rights, constitutional and international law.
Following his notable academic achievements, leading to his Masters of Law (LLM), I am aware that Wayne is presently a Law Doctoral Candidate and Course Instructor at the University of Leeds, School of Law and is also working as a Policy Assistant for my colleague Ms. Lucy Powell MP and as a Project Manager for the Ardwick Advice Centre.
I was also very impressed to learn that Wayne was a Legal Assistant as part of the Survivors of Symphysiotomy Group in Ireland. The subject matter being very close to home as his mother had sustained substantial and lifelong disabilities having undergone a childbirth operation in 1971. His experience with this issue led Wayne to pursue a law degree and specialise in human rights.
I feel that Wayne’s high achieving qualifications, his thirst for knowledge and experience and documented abilities will make him more than able to carry out the duties as a Law Tutor and I thoroughly recommend him to you.
Yours sincerely
Richard Burgon MP
Member of Parliament for Leeds East
Former Shadow Lord Chancellor and
Shadow Secretary of State for JusticeWayne has been working with me as a Policy (Administrative) Assistant since January 2019. It has been a real pleasure having him as part of our team helping with general administration and in terms of policy casework.
From an academic (legal) perspective, Wayne has attained both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in law, specialising in human rights, constitutional and
international law. These have helped him practically in this role, particularly when responding to constituents on a range of issues, including human rights, justice, Parliamentary processes, and international peace and security, amongst others.
Feedback from colleagues in the office highlight Wayne to be very passionate and enthusiastic about the work he engages in. He is meticulously organised and takes great
care in dealing with multiple issues simultaneously.
Moreover, after conducting thorough research, he regularly contacts Government Ministers and Departments to
raise particularly meritorious cases and/or wider policy matters. These high-level policy discussions have the potential to positively affect not only millions of lives across Greater Manchester, but also across the whole of the United Kingdom.
Given that Wayne is a hard-working, well-motivated, honest and reliable gentleman with both exceptional legal qualifications and experience, I thoroughly recommend him.
Yours Sincerely,
Ms. Lucy Powell MP
Member of Parliament for Manchester CentralI have known Wayne Ramwell for more than nine years, and I wholeheartedly recommend him as a course instructor and/or tutor.
I had the pleasure to teach Wayne a wide range of modules in which he excelled. He obtained remarkable marks in the subjects which I taught him and his ideas, suggestions and comments were always stimulating. He was always gentle and kind to his colleagues and Wayne is one of those students who I was delighted to teach.
I kept in touch with Wayne throughout his postgraduate studies, in which he also excelled. In fact, he attained a Distinction at the LLM at the University of Manchester.
His extracurricular activities are simply impressive, including his position as a Policy Assistant for Ms. Lucy Powell MP and as an Academic Consultant for The Oxbridge Research Group (TORG), amongst many others. His energy and enthusiasm are commendable.
Wayne is a hard-working, well-motivated, honest and reliable gentleman with a keen interest in law, politics, and the international arena.
