About Victoria
I am an experienced tutor keen to help children broaden their intellectual horizons and improve their confidence.
I have tutored as a member of the staff team at Latymer School (West London) and currently do one on one teaching at an ambitious school I’m East London. I have also tutored privately.
I am a prize-winning graduate of the University of Oxford, where I gained a BA in English Literature. I am a graduate of the Courtauld Institute of Art where I was awarded a first-class Master's for my prize-winning dissertation on modern art.
I have an excellent knowledge of the whole history of English Literature and I am well placed to teach English Literature at all levels, including at pre-GCSE, GCSE, A-Level, IB, and degree levels. I have a broad understanding of literary theory and can assist with these elements of student's work as well as with straight-forward study of literature.
I have a comprehensive understanding of History of Art and I can assist with this subject at pre-GCSE, GCSE, A-Level and IB levels. I lecture on Art History and take tours to museums. I am very happy to take on students who are not studying the subject at school, but who would like to improve their cultural knowledge by learning about Art History in their spare time.
My main focus in teaching is to help the student with all aspects of essay writing and argumentation, as well as to expand the student's knowledge of the subject. Studying with me will not only enable the student to grow in confidence, but it will also widen the student's knowledge of the subject beyond the curriculum.
I believe that every student can achieve the best grades if they are given the right support and encouragement.
