Experienced uni tutor - study skills, essays & presentations

As a University of London tutor, examiner and dissertation supervisor on a Masters programme, I can offer bespoke guidance in study skills, essay writing, dissertation projects, presentations, applications and writing skills (from grammar to essay structure) for students at all levels: primary/prep, secondary, undergraduate to postgraduate.

My students come from all parts of the world, and I help them plan research, structure their work, refine their essay writing, and improve their academic English. I can provide tutoring services by Skype as well as in person.

I teach research skills, refugee protection and human rights at Masters level, and English, humanities, law and general studies for prep and secondary, with a particular focus on written work and spoken presentations. Based on my extensive professional experience, I am also able to coach practical subjects including online marketing, communication and digital services management.

As well as one-to-one tuition to develop skills, I offer bespoke services for students who need to perform well in particular essays or pieces of work. For dissertations, I offer a full day at £250. This includes reading your work up to 12,000 words, providing comprehensive one-to-one feedback and guidance for your next steps; feedback is provided in writing, and in person or by Skype. I provide this same bespoke service for smaller pieces of work at an hourly rate. I do NOT write essays for anyone. I am a far better investment than an 'essay mill', as I will give you the valuable guidance needed to produce your own work to the required standard, from planning through to completion.

I am able to assist with applications for scholarships and grants, having won Research Council studentships for one of my Masters degrees and for my PhD, as well as having developed successful grant proposals for not-for-profit organisations.

I also coach for interviews, presentations, and public speaking, having many years' senior professional experience in the communications field.

I embrace neurodiversity, and can accommodate students with aspergers/autism accordingly.

Personal Reference

I have known Vickie for around 20 years as a friend and colleague and can vouch for the fact that she is a very conscientious, talented and hardworking person. She speaks Spanish very well and is passionate about human rights. I'm sure she would make an excellent tutor in a range of subjects from Study Skills to ESOL, anthropology, politics, sociology, human rights and others. I'm happy to recommend her.
