About Toby
My name is Toby Harper and I am a recent graduate from Cardiff University. I graduated with a First Class degree studying History for three years. History is my greatest passion when it comes to academics, ever since studying the Celts in Primary School I was pretty much hooked! Although I never studied the Celts again, I have specialised in British History, from the depths of Empire to the rise of Industrialisation. I also worked heavily on Russian and Chinese History, and have gained a sizeable knowledge on how to read historical information through an analytical lens.
I have a friendly teaching style that paces itself to your needs specifically, and I can do this for any age/grading. History can be a painful subject at times and its easy to get caught up in all the historical complications! I've definitely been there. But as I have recently graduated from University and the tribulations of GCSE, AS and A-Level are fresh in my mind, I believe I am a valuable tutor for anybody who is approaching history at these levels in need of help. I will simply be there to guide, answer questions and to engage the subject with you, and to help get that all important grade!
