About Timothee
- What kind of experience do you have?
As a performer I've been regularly guesting as principal cellist at Welsh National Opera as well as section cellist with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne. I'm also a keen chamber musician, appearing with artists such as Vilde Frang and Lawrence Power. Finally, I've always been fond of the more modern side of the music industry, regularly performing in the West End ("Waitress - the musical") and as session cellist for BBC documentaries and Netflix.
As a teacher, I have participated in numerous music courses and summer academies as principal cello/chamber music teacher and assistant, including string sectional coach for the Geneva conservatoire youth orchestra and guest soloist, as well as "cellos at Belle-Serre" summer course with international cellist Lowri Blake.
I have also been involved with more than twenty music outreach workshops in London and around with the Worshipful Company of Musicians.

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
Very skilled, knowledgeable and super pleasant to work with. He has given lessons for over 1 year to my 15y old son, who had lost motivation in the cello. The fact that Timothée is a professional cellist, relatively young and full of enthusiasm, but also a real musician, very versatile with several instruments, allows him to make lessons very interesting and pleasant. I highly recommend him. I provided this recommendation after checking with my son, who agrees with it.
Firstly, Timothee is impeccably credentialed to teach cello. He is an extremely patient teacher whilst still skilfully instilling the self discipline required to succeed with a classical instrument.
His lessons are well planned, allowing interesting pieces to be learned that appeal to the individual student.
He was able to adapt and successfully deliver lessons via Zoom during lockdown.
He is extremely passionate about music and his enthusiasm is catching. He understands music from all angles, providing insight into the professional music and production worlds.
He is extremely reliable and well organised.Timothee has been teaching my secondary school age son for three years now - he is a wonderful teacher, building excellent rapport with his student and passing on his own superb performance skills. He performs widely in a variety of contexts and musical styles and my son finds him very inspiring. He is reliable, punctual and polite.
