About Tim
I have been teaching the violin for 10 years helping young students from the age of 5 to 14 to enjoy playing the violin encouraging them in the playing and intonation. I play along with my students on my own violin so that it inspires them. I encourage my students to practice in between lessons. I first show them how to hold the bow and a good technique for the balance of the bow and changing strings through the fingers that hold the bow. Another important foundation is the tapping of the strings with your left hand fingers this will build a foundation for speed and sound. The movement of your left hand on the board. Tapping your fingers down onto the board like a piano keys using your base knuckles. Posture is also very important when it comes to holding the violin.
