About Thomas
I am an artist whose practice spans the disciplines of painting and sculpture, as well as a teacher.
I am a fully qualified teacher with a strong track record of helping GCSE and A Level students to better navigate the befuddling modern terrain of assessment criteria and develop a strong personal vision in their artwork.
The best artists and designers are celebrated for their unique methods and approaches to their art, and yet our formal system of art education seeks the precise opposite in a person: someone who is totally consistent and reliably diligent in their approach; responding effortlessly to complicated assessment criteria on a regular basis– with this managerial skill proving enough in itself to succeed.
Some young artists will be able to develop their personal vision within this system, but many will fall by the wayside and require extra help to structure their thinking, ensuring their talent shines through.
I do not believe in one-size-fits-all educational solutions, and will create an individual learning experience that places the student needs at the centre, with the aim of unblocking their potential.
