About Theana
I am a PhD student in biology at the University of Oxford. Previously, I obtained a First Class undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Imperial College London and a Masters degree in biomedical engineering.
I have experience tutoring students from the ages of 10 to 18 in sciences, maths, French language and history, in different education systems (A level, IB, French baccalaureate, GCSE). I speak fluent French.
I am friendly, patient, approachable, and adapt easily to the needs of my students. I can help them with homework, provide training exercises to deep-dive into a subject, and assist with anything that the student and parent feel needs working on. I have had regular clients for the past few years, tutoring the student at least once a week. In addition, I have also mentored first year students during my time at university to help them transition into university life, so I am happy to help students with university applications or answer questions regarding this.
Aside from that, I enjoy cooking, reading, walking around discovering cities.

When tutoring a new student, I first spend some times assessing the needs and goals for the sessions. We can create a work plan for the tutoring sessions, based on reviewing lesson content and practice exercises. I can easily adapt sessions to meet the requirements of each student.
