About Syeda Fatimah
I am a qualified English Language Teacher. A very exciting, enthusiastic individual with the ability to inspire and motivate my students.
My expereince in teaching:
Currently, I am teaching English Language privately. I also, am a full time Cover Supervisor (supply teacher) in an outstanding secondary school.
I have experience in teaching children young as 4 years old to 19+. My students are from various background and abilities.
I am also a home stay tutor, I host students from abroad who come to stay with me and learn one to one 15+ hours a week English immersion program, Business English etc. I also, have experience in teaching ESOL classes in Barking Adult college.
I am a confident tutor with immense experience in teaching adults and children from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. My passion for teaching English enabled me to develop critical thinking skills and acquire classroom management skills.
I am equipped with the 'Communicative Teaching Method', a philosophy that I am excited to implement. I apply this method in the classroom through interactive, student-centered activities that maximise “student talk time.” I structure my lessons so that they include pair and group work, as well as working independently. By engaging students in speaking, grammar, writing, listening, reading and appealing to diverse learning styles, I have the ability to help students improve their accuracy and fluency across key skill areas.
I understand both the excitement and the challenges that accompany learning a new language. I aim to support students’ social-emotional well-being as they learn English and deepen their global awareness. I have used materials taken from the English file; cutting edge both elementary and upper level students, I also create my own teaching materials, trying varieties to develop students' learning.
As a native English speaker and having experience in working with Speech and Language Therapists, I emphasise on pronunciation in order to boost student confidence when speaking.
I will make every minute of the lesson productive!
