About Sophia
Hello! My name is Sophia and I am currently a 2nd year medical student at UCL with 2+ years of tutoring experience. Having consistently achieved the highest grades in biology, chemistry and physics, my excellent subject knowledge and teaching skills makes me well placed to tutor students from primary to A level.
I thoroughly enjoy explaining concepts and seeing a challenging idea click in my student's minds. My passion is to motivate students and help them reach their best academic potential.

As a medical student at UCL, I have an excellent understanding and appreciation for the sciences. With over 2 years of tutoring experience, my teaching style is approachable and patient.
I take a holistic approach to target content understanding, exam technique and more challenging questions. This works successfully with my students to cover all bases and ensure they are exam ready. Lessons are personalised to meet the student's concerns, as such, 2 hour lessons are also possible if desired.
I also help with teaching new content ahead of their class, explaining the more difficult topics, homework and practicing exam questions.

Sophia helped me with Maths GCSE when I was really struggling. Although I was not the strongest in Maths I saw my grades increase from before I started working with Sophia. She was compassionate while teaching and considerate of the time it took me to grasp certain concepts. I never felt rushed or forced into doing something I didn't want to. I was able to work at my own pace and Sophia adapted to it immediately. Her patience and intellect made me feel comfortable being taught by her as I was never judged for getting something wrong or for understanding something incorrectly. Sophia is incredibly hard working as she never shies away from a challenge. Her organisation really impressed me as Sophia knew exactly what we were doing in each of our sessions.
Sophia was really patient with my granddaughter and taught new concepts well. Her enthusiastic teaching helped her pass her 11+ exams and get into her first choice school.
