I am a hardworking and conscientious freelance tutor, specializing in G.C.S.E French and Common Entrance. I also have experience in working with primary school pupils, teaching French and developing their English literacy, confidence and perseverance. I have been a freelance tutor for 5 years and I offer personalized and rewarding lessons. My approach is to build strong professional relationships with my tutees and swiftly establish what pupils need help with. I strongly believe in a systematic approach of using a core text book to gain a depth of understanding. I go through past exam papers with my tutees to help with examination technique. For vocabulary learning I feel that “a little, aloud and often” approach is necessary every evening. I set vocabulary learning and tests every week. I also discuss new French grammar points with set exercises regularly. I am happy to travel to tutees' houses. I have a 2.1 in French from Queen Mary University of London. As part of my degree I spent a year at Avignon university where I studied French literature, translation and drama. I also prepared a 7000 word dissertation in French comparing the Avignon papacy to the Babylonian captivity. I am therefore confident that I have a high command of both French literature and language. My hobbies are drama, travelling and learning new languages.
