About Simone
I'm a kind and caring Tutor with a lot of patience which is very important when working with children.
A tutor with experience working with children who have various educational needs, and whom vary in ability. I'm able to build a good rapport with child and parent/carer. I have experience in assessing a child's needs by completing assessments, in order to set educational targets.I have planned and delivered stimulating lessons to help raise a child's attainment level. Ability to write reports to update on child's progress.
I have over seventeen years experience working within the educational sector doing various roles.I have worked with children and young people in various educational institutions/settings across London. I have five years valuable experience working as a tutor.
It is important to plan stimulating and effective learning activities for children of various needs and to suit each child's needs.
For a Reception pupil with English as an additional Language, a good learning activity is an 'Action' activity such as Role Play. This is because children with English as an additional Language learn through words and action. A good role play for children with English is an Additional Language is role playing cooking /kitchen.They learn to label play food and learn through action by pretending to cook in the kitchen.
I have valuable experience also working with children who have learning difficulties and disabilities. I am Makaton trained. Makaton is a good way to help children especially children with Special Educational Needs to communicate.
I specialise in Early years/Foundation Stage and Primary(Key Stage 1)
After completing a BA(Honours) degree in Media and Publishing with Race and Culture. I have gained skills in proofreading and editing.
