Versatile, friendly and reliable Primary School Teacher
Hi I'm Simeon, a versatile, articulate and reliable Primary School Teacher based in East Finchley.
I specialise in all the core subjects within the Key Stage 2 Curriculum (and beyond upon request); English, Maths and Science.
I am also happy teaching French, Italian and/or Latin up to GCSE level having gained my first degree, BA Italian & Latin from UCL in 2004.
Since then I have also attended The Central School of Speech & Drama where I trained for three years as an actor (BA Acting) and The Institute of Education where I attained my PGCE in 2015.
So I am equally happy teaching drama, public speaking or audition technique to any budding thespians and also posses real insight when it comes to the myriad strategies and techniques that constitute effective teaching/tutoring.
English is my mother tongue and I thoroughly enjoy sharing my passion and enthusiasm for language and numeracy wherever I've taught.
My strength lies in understanding how best to serve the unique educational needs of every child I encounter. You can have all the knowledge in the world but an outstanding practitioner understands how best to communicate that knowledge in a way that resonates with the learner/s before them.
Communication is critical and that is where I thrive. I've always been fascinated by education psychology and so fully appreciate how best to adapt my teaching approach to whoever it is I'm supporting, be it somebody who is experiencing difficulty in a certain area or someone who requires additional challenges to stretch them.
My work as a supply teacher visiting a variety of different schools and pre-schools, has enabled me to observe children's learning across the educational spectrum.
My role demands I build a strong, positive relationships with staff and children alike in a very short space of time, so one to one tutoring comes very naturally to me. I enjoy building a unique rapport with pupils, sharing with them my boundless enthusiasm for learning. I also have experience of working with children with SEN and more complex learning needs both one on one and in larger groups.
I am committed to creating a friendly, relaxed and engaging learning environment where with my support, pupil's can nurture their innate appetite for learning and realise their full potential.
