About Seraphina
Hi! I graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) degree in English Literature from Durham University in 2020, and I attained a Distinction in my Masters in English Literary Studies at Durham in 2021. I've just finished studying for a Law Conversion Course in London. I did French language modules as part of my degree in my first and second year, achieving the highest mark in the cohort in my second year. At A-level, I achieved A*s in Pre-U English and Pre-U French and an A in Latin at St Paul's Girls' School in Brook Green.
I speak French at home with my mother, who is fluent, and I have done a number of exchanges in Marseille, residential courses in Nice and Montpellier, and I competed in a French inter-school debating competition in March 2017, all of which have contributed to my love of and proficiency in the language. Latin is one of my strengths, having attained 100% in my GCSE and 99% in my AS level exams, while English has always been my favourite subject and one I have excelled in throughout my time at school and university.
I have been tutoring for over 4 years and I've done approximately 200 hours of tutoring with children between 9 and 16 years old. Although English, French and Latin are the main subjects I offer, I've been employed as an all-round 11+, 13+ and GCSE tutor to two boys for the past 3 years so I am also happy to help out with maths, sciences, geography, religious studies, verbal reasoning and history for entrance exams. In addition, I have experience in teaching English and French as a foreign language to adults.
As a sports leader during my penultimate year at SPGS, I gained a lot of experience in motivating and galvanising younger peers and I am confident I have the academic expertise and enthusiasm to enable my pupils to reach their full potential in any of the three main subjects I tutor, as demonstrated by the reviews on my page. I really enjoy tutoring and have gained a further qualification by having studied for a Masters in English Literary Studies this past academic year.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions about me, how I teach, my availability, or anything else you might want to ask when considering whether I am the right tutor for you or your child.
I look forward to hopefully meeting you soon!

My son needed a tutor to bolster his GCSE French studies. Seraphina was brilliant with him and he ended with an A after a C in his mocks!!
Punctual, polite and knew what he needed to succeed and ensured he achieved that!!Seraphina, at very short notice, helped my son with his Creative Writing and Comprehension. Given the very tight deadline (we only made contact in November), she established very quickly the key areas to work on. Her exam advice was invaluable and no doubt gave our son added confidence.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Seraphina and will certainly be asking her to help out with our daughter's exam preparation.View more recommendations
