I am an Experienced (12 years) Math (Secondary, High) Teacher/Facilitator. I have been using some short cuts and easy techniques to understand Math concepts and providing enough worksheets to practice. IBDP Math HL , SL , IGCSE , A levels students are most welcome for ( online/live) coaching.
My Teaching Practice: I have been expressing Enthusiasm, passion, outstanding subject knowledge, love of learning and a desire to further my knowledge both within and outside Maths. My students have justified my efforts by securing high levels of grades every year. I have been improving in all aspects of teaching Mathematics like Delivery of lessons, class management, and techniques of teaching & learning, use of ICT, project based teaching, Inquiry based learning, and investigative approach with differentiation of study teaching and study materials since 2005.
My lessons are planned to bring my students participation as much as possible, I start my lesson by Explaining the concept of “WWW “ I mean generally when you meet new learners we must teach them this principle ( w – what are you learning , w--- why are you learning and w – when & where you will apply this knowledge ) In my teaching practices , I really Enjoy Student Cantered Learning so I use an interactive Math teaching technique by planning the lesson delivery (learning targets) and formative assessment than summative Assessment + Skill( Subject based skill, learning skills, real life skills )based assessment. When I teach, my emphasis is on understanding and deriving formulas/building concepts rather than memorizing. I feel a classroom environment should be vibrant and engaging, with plenty of active student participation. I encourage high student involvement, and incorporate discussions whenever possible, continuously asking questions that stimulate higher thinking. Differentiated, investigative lessons became today's necessity. Because students can be lead to same targets by taking different routes of teaching and learning as per their levels and needs. In Most of my lessons I teach them by keeping in mind that how to connect Mathematics with other areas like TOK (Theory of knowledge ),creativity by discussing/assigning Research & Project Works, Experiments in Math lab, Interactive Activities , Critical thinking Puzzles and Some real Life Challenges. Now in 21st century, the Students like to learn through Tech Based Learning System and mostly International Schools are incorporating these technology device (Chromebooks, i pads etc.) To formally Assess Students Quizlet, Kahoot, Quizizz, Edpuzzle, Edmodo and many more ways we are using. Working with Other members of staff (everyone is unique in his/her teaching and dealing strategy) is another good opportunity to share and learn to improve.
Technology in Teaching: In my lessons I use wherever appropriate Interactive Math tools like Autograph (to teach Calculus, functions, graphs, trigonometry etc.) Geogebra, Cabri 3d, sketchpad and some online interactive sources(animations). Because technology is required to make the learners understand & to provide visual aspect of some Concepts like Area under the curve, Volume of revolution, vectors, line & Plane etc….
At last I want to say that I am 100 % Result oriented teacher for my Students in both ways Qualitative and Quantitative perspectives because I want to deal all my students as per their needs and level of understanding. So, Differentiation, Pace and investigation teaching techniques are very important. I have taught AP Calculus, IGCSE along with IBDP and other curricula. My Students have scored 7/7 in Maths HL. As an International Math Teacher (International Mindedness) I also have gained experience of teaching UK Students here.
