About Sarah
Coronavirus update: During these unusual times I am very happy to help tide students over using Skype or other online methods, and have reduced my fee accordingly.
Hello! I have a degree in English from Pembroke College, Cambridge University, a Postgradute FdA in Professional Acting from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and a Diploma in Singing from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. As well as tutoring, I am a working professional Actress, the Editor of Drama & Theatre Magazine (MA Education), Head of Content for the drama stream of the Music & Drama Education Expo, and the editor of a number of educational books including study guides for GCSE and A Level music and drama. I also write freelance for a number of other arts magazines and The Stage newspaper.
I currently teach, both from home in Surbiton and privately at students' houses, drama and English Literature, but I am also available to help with anything within my disciplines. I can help with English, whether it be for non-native speakers or those studying for exams, struggling with coursework, or writing personal statements; and I can provide help with speeches for Drama School applications or drama exams, even delivery of wedding speeches! For modified fees I am very happy either to teach from home or to come to you.

Perfect! Professional, inspiring and reliable
My son was struggling in both Eng Lit and Eng Lang GCSEs at the end of Year 10. It seemed likely he would not pass either and was feeling demoralised. Sarah's expert knowledge, combined with her enthusiasm for English, brought the subjects to life, and he positively looked forward to their weekly sessions.
