About Sarah
I have a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University and an MSc in Economics from the LSE. I worked as a research economist at the Bank of England and as a management consultant, using my economics and mathematical knowledge to problem solve.
I do private tutoring in GCSE maths & economics and A-level economics (various exam boards). I also offer Introduction to Economics sessions to help students decide if they'd like to study economics at A level or to give them a broad understanding of the subject before they start their course.
Over the last 7 years I’ve done volunteer work with primary and secondary school children. I have done online maths tutorials with Year 9 and 10 students and face-to-face sessions in school to help students with their maths and English homework and to develop their reading skills. I have experience of working with children who have English as a second language. I enjoy working with children on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to help them gain confidence and to develop the skills they need to enjoy their studies and to help them fulfil their potential. I aim to teach economics and maths in a creative way and help students to use their knowledge and skills to solve problems.
I have completed the Teaching Secondary Mathematics and Teaching Mathematics courses (Open University).
I do one-to-one lessons online using Bramble, a purpose-built tutoring platform. or Zoom. Sometimes having 2 short lessons eg 30 or 45 mins can work better than one longer one.
I am DBS checked.

Perfect! Fantastic Tutor
Sarah helped my son through A-level economics - working hard to formulate solid structures to his essays whilst also covering important and much needed content. Sarah is very organised asking what to cover before each tutor session, ensuring each lesson was pinpoint specific to what my son requested. My son's confidence grew over each lesson and benefited from these sessions. Sarah is flexible with changes to dates if a problem arose. Thank you Sarah. Highly recommended.

Sarah tutored my son for A Level Economics and I cannot recommend Sarah strongly enough. She managed to instil both knowledge and confidence in equal measures.

Subject : EconomicsPerfect! A Godsend!
Sarah is such a great find. She came through whilst others were offering £100 ph lessons etc which was way above our affordability. My daughter has suffered with depression and anxiety and Sarah has come along with such a calm, organised approach, something my daughter is missing from college and slowly building her up again. I totally recommend her as a brilliant tutor
