About Sara
Learning should always be exciting, enthusiastic and satisfying! I have always cherished my time in education, through primary school to university. I approach my studies with passion, rigour and curiosity, and these are qualities I wish to instil in others. I have been blessed with many excellent teachers who have helped shape my academic experiences, and I want to contribute to others' learning in this way by offering an enthusiastic, friendly and dedicated tutoring service.
I am a recent Law with French law graduate from Trinity College, Oxford, having received a 2.1 BA Hons. My time at Oxford was invaluable in helping me identify the ways learning can be both exciting and worthwhile. Through a mixture of structured learning and thoughtful discussion, I aim to use the valuable lessons taught to me during my time at university and relate them to my students. My approach involves personalising my lessons according to ability and personality, and adopting a flexible approach to learning. This means that if a student feels an approach is not working, then I will work with them to change it. It is through collaboration that I believe students will receive the most from their tutoring experience.
Oxford was a really special time in my life. I loved it there, and I am eager to help aspiring Oxonians prepare for their admissions in Law, as well as dispel any concerns they might have about applying.
My passions include English literature and I am constantly seeking out ways to broaden my breadth of knowledge in this area. As well as being an avid reader, I obtained an A* at A Level and an award by my school for my achievements. During university, I was a tutor for JACARI, a charity whose goal is to provide education for students whose mother-tongue is not English. I taught mostly English literature. This experience in particular demonstrates my ability to engage with people from backgrounds different to mine, as well as cater teaching methods to take into account difficult personal circumstances.
I am also enthusiastic about languages. I am fluent in Italian, and have an advanced knowledge of French, having undertaken a year abroad in Paris studying French law at Pantheon-Assas University. I have also obtained an A at A-Level. To me, languages are not just grammatical rules to be learned, but cultures to be experienced. This is why with my teaching methods, students will gain an appreciation of both language and culture.
History is another favourite of mine, and I am happy to tutor at AS Level and under. I achieved an A* at A Level so I am qualified to teach at that level. History is an incredibly exciting and important subject, and I hope you will find so too!
My degree in Law was a brilliant experience. Through it I have honed a rigorous attention to detail, focus and analytical abilities that will be invaluable for tutoring. I have demonstrated my commitment and success in my degree by obtaining a prestigious Training Contract with Pinsent Masons, an international law firm, and I am thrilled to be starting my Legal Practitioner's Course in September (I will still be available to tutor on some weekdays and weekends). I am incredibly excited about reentering education and diving further into the intricacies of the law.
I demonstrate my passion for helping others in my daily life. I am currently volunteering at Liberty, a human rights organisation, as a legal advice volunteer. My role is to answer human rights queries by the general public, which involves a lot of in-depth legal research and analysis. Advising and teaching people, whether through the law or any other subject, is close to my heart. It is why I want to be a lawyer, and why I believe tutoring is an extremely worthwhile activity.
So please feel free to contact me and get this process started! I am comfortable teaching all ages, and I hope to be working with you soon!
