About Samuel
I am a full-time writer and tutor, currently working on the first draft of a book on freedom of speech and the future of liberalism. I graduated from Cambridge University in 2012 with a First Class degree in Politics, Psychology and Sociology (now called Human, Social and Political Sciences) and in 2016 completed an MSc at Oxford University in Social Science of the Internet, with a specific focus on Internet privacy and the philosophy of information.
I focus on teaching sociology, english and economics A-levels and specialise in HSPS applications for prospective Cambridge students. I am a highly experienced tutor, having successfully helped several students achieve places at Cambridge, and have taught a wide variety of pupils for A-level. I know the syllabuses inside-out and take pride in being able to go far beyond them for students who want to really excel, teaching a flexible and tailored expanded course based upon my university degrees and personal research interests. I have created my own HSPS pre-interview syllabus that I use to prepare students, and am flexible in helping them explore beyond it into their own interests.
As someone with Dyspraxia, I understand that every pupil learns differently and should be helped to find their best approach. I want to help students figure out the best way for them to learn - something that teachers often do not have time to do in a busy classroom.

I am an extremely experienced tutor, priding myself on being able to help students achieve excellence from whatever level they are currently at.
I particularly enjoy helping students who want to go above and beyond the curriculum, having created a unique syllabus to help students prepare for HSPS entry and tailored lessons for students who want to go beyond what the A-level syllabus gives them.

Perfect! An amazing tutor!
Samuel is an incredible tutor who particularly helped my daughter in boosting her confidence for her interview, which ultimately helped her succeed. He also helped her prepare for her admissions test and widened her interest relating to her subject through teaching her new concepts and providing excerpts from academic texts. Overall, Samuel provided stimulating sessions that kept my daughter interested whilst preparing her properly for the Cambridge admissions process.
