About Rosie
My name is Rosie, I am a full time registered nurse at one of the central teaching hospitals in London. I love being a nurse and helping others however I also have a passion for tutoring.
I achieved 13 GCSEs at grades A* to B at Ilkley Grammar School in Yorkshire. I then decided that as I wanted to be a nurse it would be preferable to do a Health Studies Extended Diploma rather than A-Levels and achieved Distinction*Distinction*Distinction*. Looking at my options I decided to go to one of the top nursing schools in the country (University of Manchester) to undertake my degree in nursing. Following my degree I moved to London where I started my career in nursing.
Whilst at University I became a PASS Leader, this includes tutoring the younger years with their subjects. I prepared a lesson for every week and privately tutored a few outside of the lesson if they needed extra support. One student came to me after an exam and said she would like extra lessons as when she was learning she was unable to retain all the information. We met once a week and completed mini activities I had prepared which involved memory and matching games. When the student took the exam again she comfortable passed with a 1st for that subject.
I have worked children and teenagers of all abilities including special needs. My cousin is on the Autistic Spectrum and I love visiting him when I go home to Yorkshire. I occasionally tutor him to help with maths and science and when he was younger I took him to the swimming pool to teach him how to swim. I am very proud to be able to say he will be sitting his GCSEs in the next few months. All through secondary school I volunteered for an Autistic charity where I looked after children with an ASD. It was at this point where I developed my love for helping others.
All round I am quite a practical person, I love cooking, playing my instruments (Saxophone, Clarinet and Piano) and swimming. I like to take a practical approach to tutoring as it can be more stimulating for the student and enhance learning in a more enjoyable way.
Please note: I do have an enhanced DBS check as I am a registered nurse however I do not have a paper copy of this therefore unable to upload to this website. I do have a DBS certificate number.

I have known Rosie in a professional capacity for several years and know her to be a highly knowledgeable and capable professional. She has an excellent aptitude for teaching and always manages to approach topics at a clear, appropriate level.
Rosie has tutored and helped me with my exams when I failed them. I asked for her help as she was my PASS leader and was very approachable and friendly. She made sure to go through what I was struggling with first and helped my understanding in different ways that would best suit me such as showing me videos or diagrams. She adapted to my learning style which helped in regards with passing my exam and thus getting a first. She was very patient and adapted to my learning needs really quick!
