About Rosalyn
I am a Cambrige graduate with PhD and more than ten years tutoring experience, currently teaching undergraduates and researching at University College London.
I am an enthusiastic tutor who can make learning fun and relevant. I aim to make ideas clear to the student, in order that they can use them fluidly and flexibly, and to encourage genuine understanding. I enjoy teaching and believe learning starts with the learner, adapting ideas and course content to meet their interests and needs.
I have ten years of experience taking on tutees in literature and social science subjects from school students to postgraduate level. I am very proud of my existing students. Last year, for example, all three of my social science tutees gained their highest A-level mark in sociology, after being predicted their poorest grades in the subject, and consequently got into their first choice universities. I interview students for O/A tutors taking mock exams for Oxford and Cambridge.
I have experience working with alternative education programmes in England and Latin America, and am widely versed in non-hierarchical learning which involves both student and teacher in consideration of a common object. I have worked with the Gifted and Talented programme, for the Everyman Theatre's summer workshops in Liverpool, and taught literacy in Mexican schools, as well as working for favela learning groups in Brazil.

Perfect! A thorough teacher with great experience and advice
We were worried about my daughter's grades towards the middle to the academic year and asked for Rosaline's help quite close to the exams that would determine her predicted grades. With only a month or two of preparation, my daughter improved immensely. We were so happy with Rosaline's encouragement of regular practice and in-depth feedback on her essays in each session and we will surely be asking her to help us again!
Subject : English Literature
Outcome : Now my daughter has been predicted an A in English though she was considered to be a C- at the beginning of Year 12View more reviews

Rosalyn did several tutor sessions with my daughter for her English Literature GCSE mock on the text 'Never Let Me Go', and we couldn't recommend her more highly. My daughter is much more confident with the subject, and has great points and themes to discuss in her text that her teacher hadn't considered. Rosalyn also marked and discussed essays in much more depth and consideration than is possible for a school teacher.
Having been eager to learn about anthropology and not knowing where to start, I had the best luck finding Rosalyn. Enthusiastic, fantastic knowledgeable and wonderfully insightful Rosalyn has been a joy to learn from for the last few months and I am super excited to continue with her.
I would highly recommend to all who are looking for guidance, or expert advice. Fantastic tutor.I found the sessions with Rosalyn very helpful and welcomed the challenges she set me. unfortunately, our sessions were cut short with the results of CoVid19
Rosalyn has been tutoring me for almost a year for an A-Level Media exam. She was always very prepared for each lesson with care and enthusiasm. She was always very patient, friendly, and highly motivated.
She is extremely knowledgeable and teaches in a lovely calm matter. We covered every part of the specification in depth and this really helped me further my understanding of the subject. Rosalyn is an excellent tutor who understands any specific difficulties a student may have and knows how to support him/her. For example, Rosalyn would look at the essay questions I wrote and helped me improve my writing and my understanding. This made me feel much more confident and prepared for the exam.
I would highly recommend Roselyn to anyone requiring tutoring for media as she is very supportive and extremely knowledgeable.Rosalyn is a fantastic English tutor who has been working with my daughter guiding her through A-levels. Rather than simply waiting for you to do the work all by yourself she read through each novels for my daughters coursework, introducing her to more complex ideas and further reading - something imperative for higher grades. Rosalyn also goes beyond the curriculum by helping my daughter with her personal statement and Cambridge interview making she was answering questions critically whilst encouraging her to do her best. If you’re looking for someone to give detailed and constructive feedback resulting in weekly progression then she is the best person for you.
Rosalyn was great.
I had her during my second and third year and learned a lot.
Very professional and enthusiastic!
Highly recommend.Rosalyn has been teaching in the Department of Anthropology at University College London for the last year and has proved very popular with students who said that she was able to explain complex ideas clearly and engagingly while also introducing them to alternative ways of thinking about the subject that led them to explore the subject in more depth. I most strongly recommend her to you.
