I am looking to tutor in French or Law online or in the Birmingham area.
I'm a twenty-six year old Law with French graduate. I studied at Sheffield University (2009-2013) and spent a year abroad in Belgium at the Université Catholique de Louvain studying Law, taught exclusively in French. I obtained a 2.1 with distinction in spoken French and have attached my degree certificate to my profile to demonstrate this.
I used to work in European transport writing to and speaking daily with French colleagues and third party transport providers. I take any excuse to visit French speaking places and have been to France, Luxembourg, Switzerland and most recently Morocco.
I have recently supported a student (via Skype) who is a ski instructor. With my support and encouragement, he successfully passed his oral exam to become a certified ski instructor in Switzerland. We covered some of the GCSE syllabus, including illness and general conversation, and also looked at emergencies.
I tutored a student with basic French (via Skype) to prepare her for a 12 minute university seminar presentation in French speaking Canada talking about French film. This is quite a feat for an English speaker with no French qualifications!
I tutored French (face-to-face) to two clients covering a range of general conversation and grammar topics - one student at my home address and another in a public venue. I had a DBS check completed to volunteer with the Every Sheffield Child Articulate and Literate campaign with Sheffield City Council.
In French, I have strengths in oral fluency and pronunciation, but that's because I'm a bit of a chatterbox! I am available to help students with coursework and exam preparation, having completed GCSE French (Grade "A") and A Level French (Grade "A" - before the A* classification became available - it wasn't there back in my day!)
Two third of my undergraduate degree covered Law modules.
I have tutored Law online (via Skype) and have a positive review for this via the website.
I have just completed my Masters in Legal Practice and am working as a paralegal at the moment before I start my training contract to become a solicitor next September.
I have experience in motor recoveries and am now working with an insurance fraud team covering property, holiday, motor, employers liability and public liability claims.
My favourite legal module at undergraduate was Constitutional Law (71) and French Law (70). I enjoyed Litigation during my LPC scoring 70 in the Civil Litigation examination paper, which covered personal injury and commercial litigation. My LPC electives were in Commercial Law, Commercial Property and Employment Law.
Please contact me with any questions.
I am available to support you on a short-term or a long-term basis.
