About Robert
Hi, I'm Rob. I believe education is key to success and happiness. These are not simply principals I live by, but an objective I seek to inspire in all of my students and strive to fulfill their potential.
I am a teaching and learning assistant in the humanities department of a school in North London. My job revolves round helping under-preforming as well as gifted and talented students reach their full potential, working one to one with students, assisting classroom learning and managing classroom behaviour and discipline.
I have been tutoring in history and economics for two years, acquiring 200+ hours outside of this site. As a tutor, I understand that I have a greater responsibility than whether I succeed or fail; another person’s livelihood and success rests on my commitment, resilience and communicative abilities. Parents come to me when their children are struggling to learn and it’s my job to communicate a subject in a fun, engaging and intelligent way—I thrive on that pressure and have consistently risen to the challenge.
My educational experience was different from most: I’ve studied in both America and in the UK at both high school and undergraduate level. I’ve witnessed the values of both educational systems, and have experienced their limitations. As such, I’ve had to adapt to different teaching methods, different learning styles and been taught a variety of subjects. I will pass the knowledge and experience I’ve gained onto my students, to maximize their potential and adapt my methods and styles to suit their individual needs.
I can also offer my tutees something unique: personal insight and understanding. When I was in school, I struggled massively with concentration and with taking my education seriously, and it reflected in my GCSE grades. I wasn’t born a brilliant student, endowed with intelligence – I had to work hard and persevere. That’s exactly what I can offer: I can help instill the importance and determination to succeed, make the learning process fun and engaging, whilst also maintaining patience and understanding.

Perfect! Great History Tutor
Rob was a great help to my daughter preparing for her History AS Level. She described him as "very knowledgeable" and able to give her an overview of the subject material she has found really helpful. His help with source questions was also excellent, helping her develop her skills considerably in this area. She also thought the material he provided her with was good. Rob was reliable and polite and I would recommend him as a History specialist.
