Experienced Tutor and Teacher for Academic and Music studies
My name is Rob, and I'm a graduate of Emmanuel College, Cambridge, with a First Class degree in Music. I am currently studying for a Master's degree in Composition at the Royal Academy of Music. My teaching experience includes classroom tuition of Music GCSE, A-Level and KS3 at both private and state schools and I have been tutoring several subjects privately for several years. I find it incredibly rewarding to see someone you have worked with individually over a period of time realise their potential. I have also worked as a volunteer in the Scout Association for over five years, through which I have learned to engage with children and young adults in a way that interests them.
Before and during my Master's I have been employed at two of the top secondary schools in the country, giving me experience in both one-on-one tutoring and classroom teaching in Music. I am experienced in GCSE, iGCSE and their equivalents, as well as both the A-Level and IB for Music. While in this position I prepared both students who were struggling and those who wanted to achieve as high a grade as possible to help them get an interview at the top universities.
For those who do want to apply to Oxbridge or universities with similar interview standards, I have experience in preparing students for that process. This can be done in as few as three sessions, or for a longer period of time to really bring the student to a high level of eloquence and engagement.
I am available for tutoring Music at all stages from complete beginner to university degree. Additionally I am available to teach Eleven-Plus exams and up to GCSE in the sciences, English and Maths. I also specialise in German and Classics.
Away from the academic side of things, I can also teach the saxophone, composition and music theory (including Harmony and Counterpoint) from beginner to diploma level, and the piano and drums to an advanced level. I have taught many students from the basic skills of music and watched them pass their exams with pride.
Thanks for taking an interest, and I hope to hear from you soon to discuss what works best for you.
