About Rebekah
I'm an Archaeology PhD student who has studied History at GCSE, A level, Undergraduate and Master's level. I have tutored GCSE and A level students as well as friends and family. During my PhD I have worked with museums and heritage organisations, which has honed my ability to communicate complex historical information and concepts to non-specialists.
I'm passionate about finding ways of studying and revising that work for students as individuals, helping to build confidence and interest in their studies. By working closely one-on-one, we can find out what works best for you. Get in touch to arrange a free first lesson!

I know firsthand what it's like to struggle with a large syllabus or open-ended essay question. I'll help you to learn how to structure essays effectively and simplify what you need to know. I work with students to find what methods help them to learn what they need to and to excel. Whether you are struggling with the content of a syllabus or motivation, I'll help find practical solutions and encourage you.
In particular, I can help with units or modules related to modern British history, US history, and the history of the British Empire. If the area you are studying falls outside of these topics, please still get in touch.
In our first session, we'll get to know one another and work out what you are looking for help with. From there, we can make a specific plan to cover the content and focus on skills that are most relevant to you, whether that's essay writing, revision skills, or primary source analysis.

Perfect! Rebekah is warm and friendly as she goes systematically through required areas of gcse history. She is knowledgeable and appears to have a plan in place… she’s a great find!
- Rebekah's response :We had a great first session looking at the Cold War in detail. Henry was able to link different aspects of events together and used the historical evidence we discussed to articulate why the Hungarian Uprising was so significant. I'm looking forward to our next session.
Perfect! We went through the essay i wrote last week and we looked at a source and Rebekah provided lovely feedback
- Rebekah's response :We had a great first session back after the Christmas break. Aimee is doing really well, having received a great mark on her mock exam. We discussed how her A levels are going more generally and her plans for university. Aimee provided excellent answers to two questions I put to her based on the content we revised. We also made plans to begin revising her next unit, on the British Empire, next week.

Rebekah profread a chapter of my PhD dissertation (philosophy). She improved very much the quality of my English, maintaining a non-invasive approach to my work and offering clear and constructive suggestions that enhanced the overall coherence.
She was very professional and available.
I highly recommend her!
Arianna (Italy)I highly recommend Rebekah as a history gcse tutor as she was very knowledgeable and engaging with my son who had missed a lot of school. His results were much better than expected which I put down in part, to Rebekah's support and the enthusiasm she had whilst teaching a number of quite tough topics.
Rebekah carried out a three month research placement with the Sedgwick Museum where she was the only historian within a team of scientists. She demonstrated an excellent ability to investigate and assimilate complex ideas and then to communicate them clearly and straightforwardly to non-specialists.
