About Rebecca
Maths is amazing and it is a pity that the wonderful intricacies so often get lost in the rush towards exams. Students can be left to rote-learn or find themselves still struggling with a concept when an even harder one demands their attention.
I can help with that. Using various tools (visual, tactile, games and discussion) I can find the route that my learners need to understand and utilise what they are learning.
A little about me:
I’ve always enjoyed maths and have experienced both excellent and inept teaching. I began a Mechanical Engineering degree at Cardiff University and found it wasn’t quite the right subject for me. So I transferred my credits to Open University and studied pure mathematics, creative writing and mathematical education. I also sing – with ambitions to become an opera singer eventually - and love to cook and bake, which oddly enough comes in very handy for teaching maths!
