Knowledgeable & Enthusiastic Young Tutor w/ SEN exp.
Having spent the last 7 years as a youth leader in London and then as a TA/LSA at a local high school, I have a huge passion for working with young people and have experience reaching the students (typically aged 11-16) that mainstream education would otherwise miss. Whilst I currently mentor three students; two with BESH and one with Quadriplegic Cerebal Palsy, I also have experience in working with young people for whom English is an Additional Language (EAL) and those with Dyslexia, Anorexia, Anxiety Disorders, Epilepsy, ADHD, Autism, IED and victims of childhood sexual abuse.
I believe that no young person is ever truly unreachable, and that one of the greatest gifts we can give our children is a passion for learning. I endeavor to establish a friendly, trust-filled and respectful relationship with every young person I have the fortune of working with, as well as cultivating an enjoyable, safe and edifying learning atmosphere.
Rebecca is an excellent, personable and overall extremely knowledgeable tutor. Her ability to make me understand even the most difficult (and boring) science topics was brilliant. The sessions were always great fun and I learnt so much! Thanks!
