About Rebecca
Throughout my time in academia, I received excellent grades and recommendations from my teachers. I have always loved learning and I hope to pass that on to all my students.
I am constantly learning new things, but my academic specialty is the sciences. I recently graduated with a 2:1 in Biochemistry, and keep up-to-date with the latest news from all the sciences. I am dedicated to my professional development, and am always striving to improve my skills and teaching methods. Most recently I've been working hard on my language skills (Japanese and French), and studying the syllabuses and specifications of Biology and Chemistry qualifications.
I excel at finding different ways to explain even the most difficult of concepts, especially to those for whom the traditional educational system can be less than ideal. I cannot resist passing on knowledge to the people around me and have explained many a complex (but fascinating) concept to my family and friends. I am growing in confidence as a professional tutor.

Prizes and Scholarships :
In 2011 I participated in the Nuffield Foundation Science Bursary Programme and received both a Gold CREST Award and an exscitec Platinum Award for my research project.
At the end of my final year at sixth form, I was awarded the Governors’ Prize for Mathematics and the Abbott Prize for Outstanding Academic Achievement.
Upon entrance to university, I was awarded a Bioscience Entrance Scholarship; at the end of my first year I was also awarded a Royal Society of Chemistry Downland Section Prize.

I taught Rebecca biological chemistry and biochemistry at Royal Holloway University of London, where she was an undergraduate. She did really well, coming 2nd out of a class of over 100 in my first year course and continuing a strong performance throughout her programme.
