About Reanna
About me:
I provide excellent tutoring in Maths (up to GCSE), English (up to KS3), Science (up to GCSE), Psychology (up to A-level) and all Primary subjects. I love teaching and tutoring, have an in-depth understanding of learning and build positive working relationships with tutees, so that they are fully engaged in their learning and enjoy the tutoring experience.
As a qualified and experienced primary teacher, I am very familiar with the National Curriculum and well trained in engaging and effective methods of teaching. Thus I am ideally placed to personalise the learning to your child’s strengths and to the gaps in their learning. Secondary-aged children who are struggling often benefit from tutoring with primary specialists, as we can build the learning from fundamental concepts and use creative teaching methods. Children I have taught and tutored have made noticeable improvements at school and achieved excellent results in SATS, 11+ exams and secondary school assessments.
Thanks to my background in both Education and Psychology, I can provide a comprehensive tutoring service that boosts children`s confidence as well as their academic attainment. I enjoy working with children with Special Educational Needs, whether diagnosed or suspected, and have extensive experience working with people with Autism Spectrum Condition and ADHD. Children I have tutored have overcome their barriers to learning and achieved brilliantly in school, while also developing greater confidence and insight into their own learning.
Experience:
*Qualified and experienced primary school teacher, including working in education in London for 6+ years.
*Tutored children from 5 to 16 years old, taught all primary year groups and worked in secondary schools.
*Worked as a Psychologist and therapist in the NHS, including extensive work with people with Autism Spectrum Condition, ADHD, depression and anxiety.
*Psychology BSc Hons Degree from University of York (Russell Group university).
*Four As at A-Level (Maths, Biology, Psychology, General studies) and excellent GCSE results.
What to expect:
Before tutoring, I will discuss the tutee`s learning and preferred tutoring subject(s) with both them and their parents (if applicable). In the first session, we will usually start with a fun and gentle activity such as learning games, as it is important that children enjoy tutoring and form a productive working relationship with their tutor. I am friendly and enthusiastic about tutoring, which children really engage with - my previous tutees have all enjoyed tutoring.
In the following session, I will usually assess the tutee’s learning in the chosen subject(s), using a combination of written and informal assessment techniques. In future weeks, I can then teach the topics they showed gaps in during assessment, using a combination of games, quick “starter” activities, taught content, learning resources and joint working with the tutee. Over time, the learning becomes increasingly tailored to the child and you can expect to see improvements in their academic achievement, school reports, self-esteem and positive attitude to learning.
At any time, parents can ask to discuss their child’s learning and the tutoring with me. While sessions are usually children only, parents are welcome in tutoring sessions if they would like some guidance in how to help their child learn at home.
Availability:
I am available weekday evenings from Tuesday to Friday, 3.30pm-8.30pm. I can also work during the day, if needed.
Location is flexible to accommodate your needs. Tutoring at my home in central Brighton is recommended; however, it`s no problem for me to travel to your home if preferred.

Perfect! Fantastic tutor
Reanna has been a fantastic to our 10 year old son in helping him with his Year 6 maths and English and in preparing for his 11+ exams. Reanna is patient, kind and makes learning enjoyable with frequent breaks to play educational games. She is always willing to be flexible to address any issues that have cropped up in the school week. She has a great knowledge of 11+ exam boards and practice materials. We would wholeheartedly recommend her for your child.

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
Reanna is an excellent role model to the children and the pupils responded well to her calm and positive manner. Reanna’s classroom was always a welcoming, positive and purposeful place to be. Reanna consistently modelled high levels of respect and politeness and the children followed her excellent example. Reanna was able to communicate effectively to children and adults at all levels.
Reanna worked collaboratively in a team. She actively contributed during all staff and planning meetings. Reanna’s lesson plans demonstrated her secure subject knowledge. Her planning referenced the children’s previous learning and built on the children’s capabilities (both strengths and needs).
Reanna consistently demonstrated high standards of personal and professional conduct, worked within the professional boundaries of the school and she was a very positive team member. This was observed by colleagues in all aspects of school life (lesson observations, staff meetings, school trips and all interactions with parents and colleagues, both within and outside school). Reanna was aware of the safeguarding procedures within school and followed these to report concerns.
Reanna is extremely conscientious and hardworking. She is able to work effectively under pressure and prioritize her workload so that deadlines are always met.View more recommendations
