About Paul
Once a struggling student, my life was changed forever when at 19 I became the pupil of a great Ivy League professor from the University of Chicago and La Sorbonne.
Sensing hidden potential (like many kids, I could speak well – but had problems concentrating and writing), he tutored me for 16 months.
Never too late – he not only changed my life but was the catalyst to these accomplishments:
Combined BA Honours (Double First) in English and Russian from King's College; being 1-of-2 scholarship students completing the MA in Creative Writing at East Anglia (Awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education, the UK’s most prestigious academic award) we interacted with the likes of Salman Rushdie and Nobel laureates.
But it was the skills I gained during this first early mentorship – the confidence to rapidly deploy critical thinking via superior reading skills; and, overcome obstacles via sound logic – that has ensured my ability to attain these “real world” achievements: become an officer of the Cambridge University Royal Armoured Corps, work as a journalist in Russia and India – and run my own communications business in Luxembourg.
So what can I do for you?
University :
- University of Cambridge - Officer School, Royal Armoured Corps, British Army [MTK1]
- University of East Anglia - Masters in Creative Writing
Prizes and Scholarships :
Received the highest satisfaction index ratings from my students in Luxembourg at both Prolingua and CAP Langues, the two leading language schools in the Grand Duchy.
One of only 2 scholarship students for the prestigious MA in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia
I was one of 13 undergraduate students chosen to be published in an anthology of writers in Canada under the age of 25.
Erasmus scholar at the former British University of Malta in Valletta
King's College student representative to the International Banking Institute of St. Petersburg and Moscow State University (MGU), Russia.
Editor-in-Chief of Russian Studies Departmental journal as undergraduate student.
First Prize as crew member of German national yacht, for the Middle Sea Race - one of the premiere sailing competitions in the Mediterranean.
Undergraduate scholarship student to the University of King's College.
Other Qualifications :
I completed a rigorous MBA style course at the Luxembourg Institut de Formation Economique, which qualified me to incorporate and administer an International Holding and run a SME company as Managing Director (a legal title) in Luxembourg's unique and highly regulated financial services economy.
In my role as a communications consultant, I have advised the senior figures from the Bank of China, ChinaLux (the Sino-Luxembourg bilateral chamber) and the Government of Luxembourg on English communications for international markets, with a special focus on ICT and globalised trade relations in the BRIC countries.
I have advised and developed the communications strategy for the University of Luxembourg on communications strategy and new-media services as they transition from a local institution into a global player.
I feel uniquely qualified to bridge the increasingly complex divide between the global economy and the relevance of a humanities secondary and undergraduate education. Taking Honours in English and Russian as an undergraduate student, and a specialised course in Creative Writing for my MA, I have found a unique way to adapt these skills not only to the publishing and new media market, but to find relevance in the fast changing world of globalised business.
I feel confident I can instill not only a sense of excitement in the learning process, but can help your child find his or her feet in real world scenarios that will help them in both the classroom and beyond. Whether applying for that summer language programme abroad or writing university and internship applications, my translatable skill set will help your child find that winning edge.

Paul was an extremely helpful and knowledgeable tutor when I required advice for my university marketing dissertation. He discussed with me ways in which I could structure my dissertation and provided me with valuable content ideas whilst encouraging me to think for myself and generate my own thoughts. Not only does Paul provide deep academic insight, he is also a tutor that helps students to think outside the box and challenge the status quo. Therefore, I would highly recommended him to other students.
This letter offers my complete support of Paul,
