About Pallabhi
I am a friendly and approachable fourth year medical student at Imperial College London. I have been tutoring for over three years now, specialising in Maths and Science tuition up to A level, and English up to GCSE level. I also specialise in medical school applications, from the UKCAT and BMAT preparation to personal statement and interview advice. I am also experienced in 11+ tutoring having attended a grammar school myself between Years 7-8 I am familiar with the exam style and requirements.
Academics
Throughout my academic career I have been a conscientious student, gaining the best overall school performance for GCSEs in (including 100% UMS in 4 subjects) and the best overall A-Level performance for science at my school (averaging a 94% UMS). I went on to gain three offers to study medicine from Imperial, Nottingham and Leicester.
Tutoring Style
I am friendly, patient and dedicated, and believe that being a tutor is not just about teaching the required knowledge, but helping students to grow as independent learners by developing study techniques and encouraging genuine passion in subject areas. I am able to adapt my technique to students of all abilities whilst bringing enthusiasm and passion towards my subjects.
Having sat my own GCSEs and A Levels not too long ago, I understand the current challenges that students face. In order to achieve the top grades, I believe the most important factor is exam technique. Whilst it is important to understand the syllabus, many students trip up when applying their knowledge to the questions in the paper. I have a sound understanding on how to develop exam technique and score top marks.
Medical School Applications
The medical school application process is unique in its breadth of demands. Students must not only score top grades, but score highly in the UKCAT and/or BMAT, have a sound personal statement, show a thorough understanding of modern medical practice and the NHS, and excel at interview. Balancing this alongside the heavy A-level workload is another challenge in itself. Having been through the process myself and gaining 4 interviews, I have a thorough understanding of the process and requirements, and am ready to guide students every step of the way.
Extra-curriculars
I have volunteered on the paediatric ward at St Mary`s as a`play team member, working alongside unwell children and their parents. I also volunteered at two orphanages in Bulgaria for disadvantaged children in Summer 2015. Additionally I enjoy playing music and sport I am a Grade 8 violinist and I am also a goalkeeper with the university hockey team.

Pallabhi tutored me in A-level Chemistry and Biology, and also for UKCAT. Her teaching style really helped me, she adapts well and can explain things in a number of ways. She was encouraging and professional and helped me go from a C to an A in Chemistry. She is a very able teacher.
