Creative & Positive Art Tutor, Professional Artist
I am an enthusiastic, well-organised and creative teacher who makes sure that nothing is left unfinished with results always delivered to full satisfaction.
I am currently available for one-to-one lessons on Art, Art History and Design. I can also deliver the lesson in Greek and Japanese for bilingual kids. I have an extensive fine art teaching experience with student facing skills gained from working at Primary and Secondary schools. Having a proven background in Fine Art I am competent in all areas of teaching. I enjoy working with young people, I have excellent communication skills and a delicate sense of humour.
Along my international academic (UK, Japan, Greece) and professional experience I am an active fine art practitioner. I am skilful in free-hand drawing, oil and acrylic painting and I can work and teach a wide variety of materials, such as colour pencils, watercolours, ink, charcoal, etc.
Having experience of international educational systems, I am comfortable working with individuals of various educational levels and cultural backgrounds. Having also the multicultural experience of alternative lifestyles has led me into developing a broad mindset. This allows me to correctly identify my students' character and needs, engage with them into conversations that could kindle their creativity and help them develop their artistic practise into a fruitful outcome.
My work has mainly to do with feminism and general perceptions of the female figure. This is usually expressed by soft-sculptures made of felt, fake fur and textiles that could be shown in installations. I perceive and daily process the installations' ideas by means of pencil drawing, watercolours and acrylic painting. Please have a look of my art work at http://www.behance.net/Olyla . Olympia taught me for a full year Japanese in order to sit the beginners level. She provided me with the appropriate working sheets and other relevant material and along with her very well organised way of planning things we were successful in covering all that was necessary leading to a successful outcome which was my passing mark in Leven 5. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to start learning Japanese with a friendly, calm yet firm and well structured tutor!
I sat the level 5 Japanese Language Proficiency test which I was succesful.
