Being an outstanding tutor is about so much more than simply having a sound knowledge of your chosen subject. It’s about knowing the syllabus inside out, knowing how topics are presented in exams, but most importantly knowing your student.
To ensure exceptional student progress a tutor must quickly assess the level of the student and how best to develop. Knowing a number of different approaches to delivering a topic is vital, as well is managing to instil a confidence and love for your subject in every student you teach.
