I am to inspire and challenge students, taking perceptions and turning them on their head. It is important students of all ages have the opportunity to learn as much as possible, spanning musical styles; sometimes moving away from the music books and encouraging freedom in improvisation to aid learning in different techniques. Whether they decide to take exams or simply learn for pleasure it is important that lessons are enjoyable, and good technique and theory are learnt simultaneously, but it is also important for me as a teacher to listen to what a student wants. Everybody has different ways of learning, and so it is imperative that I am flexible and adapt easily to suit each student's unique learning styles.
I am a graduate of Goldsmiths University of London where I studied for a degree in Music and I also teach flute and singing in a local secondary school, whilst leading both their chamber ensemble and gospel choir.
I grew up playing in and organising my own concerts, and I have been a part of various groups such as, the Goldsmiths Chamber and Film Orchestras, and currently I perform as part of the New Music Ensemble.
As a driver based in London (zone 3), I am flexible and available to travel and I also hold a full in-date DBS.
