About Nick
Thanks for reading this this site profile. Of course, everything I say here is only a personal opinion, and the real truth is in the meeting and the eye of the beholder.
However, less of the theory. I have taught at primary level for over 22 years, having had 5 years at university in the dim and distant past. During my work as a full-time classroom teacher. I was given the responsibility to lead just about everything. So what I've done since is perhaps more important.
I now work at Leeds University as a personal assistant to disabled students and in Bradford as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities. After those 2 roles I tutor - up to 10 students a week in their own homes.
Naturally my inclination is to all primary subjects (maths in particular), but I have also branched out into GCSE maths and English. To reacquaint myself with my university degree subject, I have tutored geography one to one or via skype.
More and more, I find myself teaching maths to Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils who are losing touch with their classroom piers. My primary approach and simple ability to give them more time seems to work.
I shall leave it at that. As I said, words can only tell half the story. I very much look forward to meeting you in person, anywhere in West Yorkshire where my Metro pass stretches. Time and day obviously need discussion at a later date.
