About Nick
My education began with successful entrance and scholarship exams to Dulwich College Preparatory School and Alleyn's school from where I went to Cambridge graduating First Class in English Literature. I've taught a wide range of ages and abilities from 7 years old up to postgraduate level; I'm currently studying for my PhD. I find that my enthusiasm for literature transmits to children and young people and I model my style on the great teachers and lecturers who I have been privileged to study under.
I have experience of, and can help with; entrance exams, scholarship exams, GCSE and A levels, Oxbridge entry and drama school entry.
My time as a Staff Director at the Royal National Theatre and as a BBC Drama Director with episodes of 'Eastenders' and 'Doctors' as well as feature films under my belt has also led me to teach and tutor in acting, filmmaking and drama, recently directing graduation films for RADA. I have also taught children drama and storytelling with the aim of building confidence and public speaking. It is often amazing how shyness or an inability to express emotions can be addressed successfully in this way.

Perfect! Inspirational and very well prepared
Nick had clearly prepared for this session and delivered an enthusiastic, engaging and very inspiring session. Our son was very keen to book further sessions. Definitely not a run of the mill tutor.

Nick is a very able and experienced filmmaker: he can write, produce and direct, he has a great eye for a shot and he has a very comprehensive understanding of the world of film. He has worked with me at South Bank University where he is a highly popular and well-regarded tutor, with a supportive, patient and knowledgeable attitude to the students.
I've employed Nick a couple of times to direct our students in their final year Short films at RADA. He has always been popular with the students while delivering strong films on time and on budget. As a director he's pleasant, professional and allows his students time to learn through doing giving them clear practical guidance and encouragement.
