About Nicholas
For the last three years I have tutored several students on History, Politics and English. I am very pleased with the progression all my students have made, normally jumping at least one if not two grade boundaries and are now all looking seriously at universities to continue the subject. We have also been able to establish a strong academic understanding of the subject matter, rather than simply passing the exam. Hopefully this will serve them in good stead for future education, career development and most importantly their personal interest in the subjects.
I am currently studying for a PhD in Ancient History and Classics, spechilizing in political philosophy and 'institutional' education. I am comfortable tutoring History, Politics or Philosophy up to MA level.

I have experience with AQA and Edexcel exam boards gaining many tips and techniques to collect the easy marks, as well as tapping into the hard ones. Exam preparation is critical to achieving high marks and has consistently been the primary issue for all of my students. Understanding how to prepare and approach an exam question can allow students to jump at least one if not two grade boundaries and be awarded the marks the deserve. I also expect the student to study as much as possible in their own time allowing our session to explain more complex theories or delve into more detail. This context is key to understanding a topic and will rarely be covered in class or in a text book.
