About Ruby
Over the past 10 years, I have been tutoring Mathematics for primary and secondary students at different grade level including 11+, GCSE, A-level and UKMT exams
All of my lessons now have gone online. I am using Zoom or Skype for the lesson, together with Bitpaper as a teaching tool.
I am currently a qualified Maths teacher at a secondary school. I’m also Head of A-level Maths in my school.
I believe that every student is different and hence different methods and teaching approaches should be applied for each for better results.
In the first lesson, I normally ask my students to take a short test to check their levels and identify the areas they need to improve. For any student, the most important thing is not just helping them to solve the questions, but showing them the process of thinking so that they can deal with any question by themselves.
Exam techniques are also really important so it is necessary to tell the students what they should or should not do and how they should manage the time in every practised question.
I have a few reference Maths books for GCSE and A-level students and a lot of tricks to help students to find interested in Maths and learn Maths easier.

Ms Ngoc taught me Mathematics during my A-levels. For the first few months studying in the UK, language barrier and a new teaching method made me slightly struggle with Mathematics. I had a C in my first mid-term test for C1. I knew there was something wrong with my study method. It was great that I met Ms Ngoc at that time as she supported me a lot for this subject. Her teaching method was absolutely easy to understand. She explained all the new concepts and formulas clearly and illustrated with examples to ensure that I completely understood them before moving to the next one. Ms Ngoc welcomed questions and always answered very thoroughly. I even felt that she was like a close friend to me because she not only helped me with the subject itself, but also encouraged me a lot during my two years studying A-levels. I couldn't thank her enough for what she did and a part of my success at university was certainly thanks to my great Maths tutor.
