I graduated from Durham University in 2013 with a degree in Modern Languages and Cultures (French, Spanish and Arabic). Throughout my studies, I specialised in literature and linguistics. During my year abroad, I gained extensive experience teaching English as a foreign language. Since graduating, I have participated in the British Council's English Language Assistant Scheme in Martinique and also worked as a private tutor.
I have gained over 1000 hours experience of one-to-one tutoring and teaching in small groups, gained over a period of six years both in the UK and abroad. This includes mainly tutoring English as a foreign language in France, Spain and Egypt, for learners from primary school age to adults.
During my time at university, I also participated in a voluntary tutoring scheme which aimed to assist local children who were struggling to learn in a school environment. Here I tutored French, Spanish, English Literature and Geography for KS3 and KS4 pupils for several hours a week. As part of another ongoing volunteering project, I organised and ran an after-school Spanish club for KS1 pupils and also an after-school homework club.
In addition, I have spent a year as an English Language Assistant in two primary schools in Martinique, planning and leading lessons for classes of 25-30 pupils aged 6-11. During this time, I taught two SEN classes per week. I also spent also six months as a full-time EFL teacher in a private language school in Spain, working principally with adult learners on a one-to-one basis. Here I worked with students on preparation for examinations including IELTS and TOEFL. Since then, I have been working on my own tutoring business and have worked with students on subjects including English as a Second Language for adults, GCSE French, Spanish and English, and primary Maths and English.
I am passionate about tutoring, and always work hard to identify students' needs and build my lessons accordingly. I have experience working with pupils of all ages and abilities, including those with special educational needs, English as an additional language and those struggling to learn in a school environment. I have a good knowledge of the UK school system, entrance examinations and also ESL examinations. I am friendly and engaging, creating fun and interactive lessons to encourage students to achieve their goals and reach their full potential. I believe that it is essential to create an excellent pupil-tutor relationship focussing upon trust, respect and creating a positive learning environment so that students enjoy their lessons, gain confidence in their own abilities and achieve their aims.

Natasha tutored my daughter for GCSE French. She understood the curriculum and my daughter's needs, and worked on various topics and skills. My daughter actually really enjoyed her sessions and made huge improvements.
