Just finished A levels, working at Explore Learning
I currently work part time at Explore Learning as a maths and english tutor for children aged between 4 to 15. Therefore I have the necessary tutoring skills as well as other vital skills such as forming positive bonds with children and behaviour management, needed to give every student the best possible learning experience!
I am a decisive and aspiring individual who prioritises deferred gratification in order to remain determined and focused on my work. I would describe myself as a logical and analytical individual who uses initiative and creativity to maintain speed, efficiency and accuracy in solving problems. Constructive criticism is very important to me as I am able to act upon it intelligently in order to better myself in all areas of life. I am a very organised and punctual individual who works hard and I believe this is the best combination in allowing me to keep up with my work and maintain the best possible version of myself. This, when paired with my high self-motivation, I believe, is what constantly allows for me to push to my maximum and reach the best I possibly can and this is evident in the qualifications I have obtained so far. Working with others is extremely important to me as I enjoy taking on various roles and sharing skills with others to reach an overall value consensus in the workplace and most importantly, solidarity with the task at hand. I have been able to display this skill numerous times during my schooling career as I have taken part in many group activities such as The Model United Nations and the UKMT Maths Challenge. I am also fully capable of working independently, as I am by nature rather introverted which allows me to sustain a calm, measured and thoughtful attitude both toward work projects and interactions with colleagues. My strong perceptive tendencies allow me to consider the opinions and actions of both myself and others first, rather than simply acting without thinking. Hence I feel I have a flexible approach to work and I am a confident communicator. My future career aspirations after my gap year - which I have chosen to take as I wish to further broaden my experiences in the working world as well as evolve and grow as an individual – is to obtain a place at university to read Law. Having just finished my A levels and obtaining the grades A*A*A means that it is all still fresh in my head and I can provide tuition from a student's perspective, providing tips and tricks on how to conquer exam essays to achieve top marks, especially since it has only been a mere 2 months since I sat my last A level exam. I also have a natural ability for academic writing which includes exam essays as I have throughout my school career consistently achieved top marks on these. I am also a published creative writer.
