About Michael
I am a University of Sheffield Microbiology graduate with a wealth of tutoring experience helping GCSE and A Level students develop their understanding in a way that works for them. Everyone has their own unique way of learning and I work with students to identify what is most effective. Taking into consideration their existing understanding, my lessons are tailored to ensure that each student's personal needs are addressed so that they can develop their knowledge and achieve the best grades possible.
My career in Finance and Asset Management has given me a wealth of experience in coaching and improving performance. I understand the need to provide emotional support and guidance in what is often the most stressful period in anyone's life. I also take the time to understand what motivates them as self-determination is a greater driver of success than any external pressure.
My lessons take place in a friendly and comfortable environment and involve personalised explanations of course content at the level most comfortable for the student, practice exam questions and continuous feedback. I also allow students to contact me at any time outside of sessions with any questions they may have.
Anyone can excel when given the right support.

Mr. Hunter was an excellent Biology tutor. I have struggled with STEM subjects my entire life and he worked with me to find a solution to the mental roadblocks I was having. He is patient and has a myriad of ideas as to how to approach the subject. Because he was such an adaptable tutor, I found myself not only understanding the subject but enjoying it as well. And I surprised myself as well as my instructors with how well I understood the subject by the end of the semester. I highly recommend his services.
