Find out more about Md Shahidul

  • Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

My first experience with a computer was when I was in my AS Level in 2002. I remember the excitement of seeing a computer for the first time and being amazed by its capabilities. I was curious to explore what it could do and how it worked. I started playing with OS 98 and later with Windows XP which was fascinating to me. That experience sparked my interest in technology and computers, and I have been passionate about it ever since.
  • What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

While the Internet could be considered one of the most inventions by humans, the technological evolution that has marked me the most is the rise of mobile devices and smartphones. They have completely changed the way we interact with technology and with each other. The convenience of having the internet and all the apps we need right in our pockets has been a game-changer. I think the next turning point in this field will be the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence and machine learning. These technologies have the potential to revolutionize almost every industry and aspect of our lives.
  • Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

My expertise is in web and mobile programming and computing. I am passionate about developing applications and software that are both useful and user-friendly. In today's digital age, these skills are becoming increasingly important as businesses and organizations rely more heavily on technology to connect with customers and improve operations. My interest in this field comes from my love of problem-solving and my desire to create innovative solutions that make people's lives easier.
  • Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

I do find these visionaries inspiring, as they have made significant contributions to the field of technology and have had a profound impact on the way we live our lives. However, my personal role models are the many skilled programmers and developers who work behind the scenes to create the software and applications we use every day. They often go unnoticed but play a vital role in making our digital lives possible.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

One valuable anecdote from my university days in Queen Mary University of London was when I worked on a group project to develop an interface to interact with a concept robot that was being developed as part of the group. We all had different strengths and weaknesses, and it was a great learning experience to see how we could work together and combine our skills to create something functional and useful. It taught me the value of collaboration and teamwork, which is essential in the computer world.
  • What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

I would say that IT can seem complicated at first, but it is just like any other skill - it takes practice and patience to master. The key is to start small and focus on the basics before moving on to more advanced topics. There are many resources available, such as online tutorials and forums, that can help make the learning process easier. The more you practice, the more comfortable and confident you will become.
  • What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

Apart from computers, I enjoy playing music, playing outdoor games, and reading. I find that these activities help me unwind and recharge after spending time in front of a screen. I also enjoy learning about new technologies and keeping up to date with the latest trends and developments in the field.
  • What makes you a Superprof in IT?

What makes me a Superprof in IT is my combination of technical knowledge, teaching skills, and passion for the subject. I have a deep understanding of many programming languages including desktop, web and mobile programming, and I am skilled with advanced algorithms and problem solving.
