About Martina

Friendly, driven Law student - previous tutoring experience

Hi there!

I am an undergraduate Law student at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). I have tutored Year 7 students in Maths during Sixth Form and I am a volunteer Maths tutor in a year 10 class in a school here in London. I have also gained experience in general homework support, with subjects including English, from primary school level to GCSE level, Science, Maths and Humanities.
I hold an IB Diploma, so I am able to help out with Economics, Geography, Maths, Environmental Studies, Italian and English Literature at IB, AS and A-level, as well as UK university applications. During Secondary School (both in Italy and in the UK), I was the head of the debating clubs and I won several awards in debates, developing my public speaking and leadership skills.
In addition, in order to gain my bilingual diploma I had to gain strong essay writing skills, which I strengthened further during my IB Diploma.
Finally, I speak German, Hindi and Urdu, as well as English and Italian, so I would be happy to help out with any of these languages.

I am a strong believer in growth mindsets: as long as you are committed and passionate, you can and will achieve anything and (hopefully!) I can make the whole process easier!

Reference for Martina Ghinetti

Written by Olivia E
A few years ago whilst Martina was in Year 12 she came in periodically to help out with my Year 7 bottom set. Whilst she was in the lesson she would go round helping those who asked for help with the work or occasionally she would sit with a support individual students who were struggling. She was always a pleasure to have in the classroom because she was always professional and respectful but also because she was good at supporting the students in that class.
Students made more progress than they would have done without her and Martina received some experience of being in and supporting a lesson
