Reference for Mandy Arthur

Written by Abel N
Amanda is an academically gifted individual whom I have known since 2010 when she was the Head of the Staff-Student Liaison Committee in the College of Engineering,Mathematics and Physical Sciences at the University of Exeter. She has a passion for improving the life chances of individuals around her, and at Exeter she organised training activities to improve opportunities for learning for international students. She organised teams of home students to improve the English language skills of first year international students as well as basic skills in mathematics and engineering. She also organised international placements for engineering students through the Engineers Without Borders (EWB) charity.
Her ideas on supporting international students have been formally adopted by the College, and attainment of international students is now almost at par with that of home students.
