All ages and abilities welcome – we’ll discuss both short-term and long-term goals during our opening session
Sessions can take place either at my house in Longlevens, Gloucester or I can travel throughout Gloucestershire
I am a fully qualified maths teacher but have decided to focus on one-to-one tuition as I enjoy engaging with students on a more personal level, where I’m better able to tailor my approach to each individual learner. The rest of my time is devoted to my young family and playing live music around the country.
On top of completing the PCET PGCE (dedicated to teaching maths at college), I have over 6 years experience working as a teaching assistant at secondary school and 6th Form – much of this was spent guiding a variety of different learners (including many SEN students) through their GCSE maths. I have also tutored several students on-and-off throughout this time.
In terms of qualifications, I have B at GCSE, A at A-level and a 1st class degree with honours with much of the content devoted to pure maths. The B at GCSE was as a result of not feeling engaged at school – I developed an interest in maths as a mature learner – as a result, I understand how many students feel in a classroom and I work hard to create a more comfortable and personable environment.
