Experienced and enthusiastic 11+ and common entrance tutor
Over the past five years I have gained extensive teaching experience both in a classroom environment and by tutoring privately. In 2010 I was involved in the Minimus scheme where St Paul’s girls taught Latin to year six children at Addison Primary School. Since then I have privately tutored for three families, one of whom I am still working for, the tutees being between the ages of eight and thirteen. This has included preparation for Common Entrance, Dulwich College and eleven-plus admissions and end of year exams, as well as tuition on a more general basis throughout the school year. I am therefore happy to teach Maths, Science, Geography, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning and comprehension skills up to GCSE level, although my specialities are Latin, History and Art History (all taken to University level). I have become very familiar with the standard syllabi for all these subjects at KS2, KS3 and GCSE level and am also aware of, and able to support, tailored syllabi created by individual schools. Tutoring for three separate children of different at ages has taught me to adapt to each child’s individual learning needs and to quickly identify and target areas of difficulty as well as covering the general material.
In 2010 I was involved in the Minimus scheme where St Paul’s girls taught Latin to year six children at Addison Primary School on a voluntary basis. I taught children either one on one or a group of three of four at a time.
