About Lucy
Hi! I'm Lucy, and I graduated from Oxford University in Classics and French in 2017. I'm a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic tutor and I love to inspire students in the subjects I'm passionate about.
I have plenty of experience of working in education in a range of settings, including teaching English in France for a year, tutoring one-to-one, as well as lots of voluntary work done in primary schools, and teaching in refugee camps. I have a flexible, creative, and pro-active approach to tutoring, and am committed to ensuring that students achieve their potential and are inspired in their work.
Having spent time living in France, and studying it to degree level (receiving first class marks in translation papers), I am a confident and competent French tutor. Equally, my university education in Classics equips me to tutor Classical Civilisation, and I would also be comfortable tutoring History.
I have worked in many different settings - including as a youth worker - which has equipped me with a range of techniques and approaches to tutoring, which enable me to select the most appropriate strategy to tutor a particular student to help meet their individual needs. I care deeply about education, and strive to ensure my students get the most from their experience. I am motivated by my students' success - however that is measured for them.
I am currently studying for a Masters in Human Rights Law, and so my tutoring fits in around my lectures. Do get in touch to find out more.

Lucy is an excellent tutor for children of all ages. She has done a lot of work with young people for many years and has a lot of experience. She is one of the brightest and most talented people I know and you will not find a better tutor, in my opinion. She has lived in France and speaks excellent French.
Lucy was a great teacher, always taking the time to patiently explain concepts and how to apply them in my own work. Always reliable, and very helpful. I cannot recommend her enough!
